Representatives of the Faith Coalition for the Common Good discuss restorative justice, justice in healthcare, and racial justice.
This episode features a conversation between host David Risley and three guests from the Faith Coalition for the Common Good in Springfield, Illinois: Tyshianna Bankhead (executive director); Vanessa Knox (transformational justice chair); and Quonie Barney (transformational justice community organizer).
The Faith Coalition for the Common Good describes its mission as: “We are a coalition of faith communities, community organizations and individuals working collaboratively for racial equity, civic engagement, a fair economy and participatory decision-making.”
This episode is the first of a series to be published with support from the Field Foundation of Illinois, through a Healing Illinois grant administered by the United Way of Central Illinois.
Our next episode will feature a conversation with a woman who, after being sent to prison 9 times, became a prison guard. You won’t want to miss her story of exploitation, abuse, and along the way gaining a unique perspective as an insider on both sides of prison bars.
